The Seven Annual Sabbaths
The Beginning of Months

If you thought that The Eternal only had weekly Sabbath Days then you would be mistaken. There are SEVEN Annual Holy Sabbaths that occur once every year

These SEVEN Annual Sabbaths are:

  1. The first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread
  2. The last day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread
  3. The day of Pentecost (Shavuot) which coincides with the beginning of The Feast of Weeks
  4. The Day of Trumpets (Yom Teruah
  5. The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur)
  6. The first day of the Feast of Tabernacles (Succoth or Sukkat)
  7. The Last Great Day (also, Succoth)

These Holy Days are spoken of in Leviticus chapter 23; Three of these annual Sabbaths are Feasts periods. Two of the Feast periods have been positively identified in Scripture as being seven day long periods (a 7 day week).
The Feast of Weeks
(a.k.a. The Feast of First Fruits), a symbolic Spring Harvest, is most probably, also, exactly seven days long (explained later). Feasts are "Appointed Times" but are not necessarily Holy Convocations (Sabbath Assemblies). However, four of the Seven Annual Sabbath Days (are Holy Convocations and) do occur during a Feast Period (a 7 day week). "The Last Great Day" immediately follows the seven day feast period of The Feast of Tabernacles (a.k.a. The Feast of Ingathering, a.k.a. The Feast of Booths, a.k.a. Succoth or Sukkat). Only three Annual High Sabbaths positively do not fall within a seven day Feast Period (Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, and The Last Great Day).
These are not manmade Jewish laws, but The Eternal Father's Laws.

Psalm 81:3-4

3 Sound the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, [and] on our solemn Feast Day.
4 For this [was] a statute for Israel, [and] a law of the GOD of Jacob [Israel].

Psalm 104:19
He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

Leviticus 23:4
¶ These [are] the Feasts of the LORD, [even] Holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

Exodus 12:2
This month [shall be] unto you the "Beginning of Months": it [shall be] the first month of the year to you.

Exodus 13:3
¶ And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this [place]: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.

Isaiah 66:23
And it shall come to pass, [that] from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

The Beginning of Months,
The Sacred Calendar

In order to properly observe The Seven Annual Sabbaths
(Holy Days), one must know when the beginning of The Eternal's Sacred Year and Calendar occurs. If you think that Satan (source of Human Nature) has completely missed the opportunity to confuse this important event, then you would be wrong. However, I am a firm believer that it is the Intent of ones Heart (Hebrews 4:12) that The Eternal judges concerning our attempts to obey these issues, and whenever ambiguity or chaos has caused confusion over an issue, then we are obligated to follow, as best as we can, until such a time as we receive a greater measure of understanding. The Annual Sabbaths (Holy Days) were commanded as "Statutes Forever" (Leviticus 23:21,31,41). These Sabbaths have not been "Nailed to The Cross" anymore than forever has already occurred.

Leviticus 23:4
¶ These [are] the Feasts of the LORD, [even] Holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons
(established by the Moon).

Leviticus 23:21, 31, 41
21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, [that] it may be an Holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work [therein: it shall be] a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

31 Ye shall do no manner of work: [it shall be] a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. [It shall be] a statute forever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month
(The "High Sabbath" month).

The conclusion of this message has been revised from the previous version in order to make known revealed insight gained by using the proven
(tried & true) "Physical to Spiritual Parallel" symbolism method for discerning YHVH's hidden truths. This symbolism is of key importance in determining the proper observation of YHVH's Sabbaths; just the same as it has been key in unraveling the "Mysteries of GOD", and [also] the deceptions of pagan translators. It was YHVH, who established the parallel Spiritual relationship between physical "Light" and "Dark", and Spiritual "Righteousness" and "Unrighteousness"; and HE did so right from the very "Beginning of Creation". Moreover this Genesis "Light" and "Dark" (absence of Light)  must always be both a "Perceived Light" and a "Perceived Absence of Light" (dark). This understanding is positively crucial to the discernment of "The Plan of Salvation"  through YHVH's Annual Sabbaths. Therefore, it is not based on a measured vernal equinox, which is based on Sunsets; neither is it a feast based on barley. Barley and sunsets do not teach the proper understanding of Spiritual "Righteousness" versus "Unrighteousness", as physical "Light" and "Dark" teach. And not just any physical "Light" and "Dark" but "Perceived Light" and the "Perceived Absence of Light" (dark). Only "Dusk" (twilight) has the capability to teach Righteous Lessons through human observation. Moreover, "Dusk" has already been identified on the previous page as the correct point in time, when one day becomes another (dusk to dusk OR even to even). This point only occurs when "Light" and "Dark" are "Perceived" to be "Balanced" (EVEN). Therefore the usage of the term "Equilux" (Equilibrium of Light), and not just any level of "Light" but that of "Dusk" (twilight). This is approximated by "Civil Twilight" and must always be used with reference to "Dusk" in Jerusalem when possible. Now all that is necessary to discover the day of the dusk (twilight) based "Equilux" is to compare the length of times that occurs between the "Two Evens" (dusk to dawn time, and dawn to dusk time) during one "Dusk to Dusk" (approx. 24 hour period) day in order to see on which day the dusk (twilight) based "Equilux" occurs. Therefore, we must use the symbolism of "Light and Dark". Why? Because the symbolism of "Light and Dark" (Good versus Evil) is what the Holy Days are all about in the first place. How else might "We" discern YHVH's "Plan of Salvation" if not by "Good" versus "Evil" or "Light versus Dark".

"The Beginning of Months" (a.k.a. Abib 1st or Nisan 1st) is always the first new (dark) moon that occurs after the "Dusk Based" (Spring) (click) Equilux (not Equinox).

The word "Abib"
(Strong's H24) does not mean young tender GREEN ears of grain or barley corn, as many believe, but rather it is a word designed to incorporate this concept of time as a time for tender sprouts of barley. Do you think it is a coincidence that Messiah is most often symbolized as a "Tender Sprout" and, also, by young barley, and a spotless young lamb or a calf (ox)? Remember "The Twenty-four Elders" and the Seraphim?

Even so, it is still the "New Moon" that arrives after the Dusk based "Equilux" that determines "The Beginning of Months".

Note: The first time that the thin waxing (increasing light) crescent Moon is visible after a New Dark Moon (low in the evening sky just after sunset) marks "The Beginning of Month" in "The Islamic Calendar". Does Islam have all the answers to the "Mysteries of YHVH"? I cannot see Islam having the answers, so Ignore the "Thin Crescent" concept.

The observance of twilight is a decision left up to the High (Highest) Priest of the congregation. Determining Twilight by charts is for convenience only, but eye observation is easy enough. It is a skill that comes from practice. All you have to do is make sure the sun is not visible and the light and darkness APPEAR balanced (equal) to you "On The Horizon".  Since there are two horizons, the East Horizon should be dark, and the West Horizon should have a sliver of light for the Dusk Measurement, and the reverse should be true for the Dawn Measurement. As for the measure of time that occurs between the two EVENS (Dusk and Dawn in this case), try measuring the time with an accurate watch, if eye observation of "Light" and "Dark" doesn't work for you then you might experiment with using (The Shadow Method). All you need is one large flat white vertical surface that faces East and West, anchored to the Earth (similar to a billboard), in a clear wide flat open terrain (just make sure that the two flat surfaces face precisely East and West respectively); Now all you have to do is hold your hand near the appropriate surface to test for a shadow (East side for Dawn, and West side for Dusk), moving your open hand parallel to the flat surfaces will help you notice a shadow or not; make note of the time when a shadow first appears (Dawn) or first disappears (Dusk). When the actual times for Dawn and Dusk occur at exactly or nearly the same time (one AM and one PM) then the measure of time between the two occurances should be close enough to know when the Twilight (Dawn to Dusk) Based Equilux is occurring or has occurred. This should be reasonably accurate if there are no high objects, hills (living in a valley), buildings, or trees casting their own shadows OR artificial lights making shadows (street lights, large city lights, nearby house lights, bright moon light, etc.) Obviously not everybody will be able to perform this task, because of modern technology and local terrain. Of course you will need excellent eyesight, and a perfectly clear twilight conditions (no heavy smog, fog, clouds, rain, etc.). California and large cities never have this option anymore; too much smog and artificial lighting. Otherwise just make a reasonable estimate with your eyes alone, while observing the two horizons. GRANTED, I have never used the shadow method before, so it may require a modification or two. Just make sure the East horizon is DARK, and the West horizon has a sliver of LIGHT with no naturally occurring shadows.

YOU might try comparing your local published
(Civil Twilight) chart times against the dawn and dusk SHADOW times for your area; assuming you don't have any outside influences to throw off the shadow method. Of course, these times will vary considerable with latitude (North or South of the equator); even so, currently "We" are using Jerusalem civil twilight times, and that cannot be measured directly from the USA or any other location using the SHADOW method.

Do NOT get too legalistic about this, because YHVH designed His times to be PERCEIVED TIMES (by the Human Eye); so as to drive home the LIGHT versus DARK Spiritual warfare that "We" must overcome, and to make Righteous Discernments for interpreting Spiritual meanings.

The New Moon

The Dark New Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon are quite close together in the sky; it is The Earth's shadow that makes the moon dark. Just as the Earth is, also, the place where mankind has been immersed into darkness
The Full Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon are at nearly opposite positions in the sky, which is why a Full Moon rises about the same time as sunset, and sets about the same time as sunrise, for most places on Earth.

Some believe that the Jews
(Levitical Priesthood) first determined "The Beginning of Months" solely by observation of the first crescent of a new moon. However, observation of crescent moons alone cannot be the basis for Yahweh's Sacred Calendar, because Yahweh's Holy Days are divine appointments or times which Yahweh, not man, has established. Crescent Moons have no Scriptural Basis.

Romans 3:1-4
Then what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the profit of circumcision?
2 Much in every way! Because first of all,
they (The Jews) were entrusted with the oracles of Yahweh.
3 For what if some were without faith?
Will their lack of faith make of no effect the faithfulness of Yahweh?
4 Certainly not! . . . .

Oracles; (Strong's # 3051); those laws, and ordinances (etc...) that are contained in the Tanakh, which include The Annual Sabbaths.

So what does this mean? It means that when
(so called) true worshippers get so involved with the legality (hair splitting) of determining the Holy Day(s), and interpreting Commandments, (etc. .), that they lose sight of the symbolic (metaphorical or Spiritual) purpose, then they no longer have the Spirit that pleases Yahweh. This in no way nullifies or voids the "Intent" of Yahweh's Laws, ordinances, (etc. .), because it is the protected tangible (physical) symbols that serve Yahweh Spiritual purpose (as parabole OR physical to Spiritual parallels). This does not mean that we must trust the Jewish interpretation of Scripture; it means that it was their job to physically protect (hide or secure) the inspired words of Yahweh for the purpose of maintaining their value as symbols (parables, allegories, examples, ensamples, and shadows of things to come). It does not mean that they actually followed the very words they protected.

Neither "The Spiritual Jew" nor "The Sabbatarian Network" any longer endorse the "Hebrew Calculated Calendar", as we believe that Yahweh deliberately chose "New Moons" and "Full Moons" for their (Light vs Darkness) symbolic value, and we believe that altering Yahweh's calendar destroys the Spiritual symbolism and the intent for using dark "New Moons" (unrighteousness or sin) and bright "Full Moons" (righteousness) in the first place. Whenever, mankind alters anything established by Yahweh for his own convenience, then mankind has selfishly placed himself before and above The Eternal.

However, for those of you who are interested in knowing more about the unscriptural "Calculated Calendar" you may choose to look up the word "dehiyyot" in Google.

Please make yourself aware, if you are not already aware, that all of The Eternal's "Annual Sabbaths" are designed by Him to teach those of us with "Ears to Hear" and "Eyes to See" about the True "Plan of Salvation". All Annual Sabbaths are physical examples of Spiritual Truths
(Parabole), and are not to be followed as legalistic rules and regulations, but are to be used as a tool to understand and teach Spiritual Truths.

Isaiah 5:20
¶ Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;
that put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
